Timeless

An old home doesn't have to remain in the past. When it was built and decorated it was mostly likely done in the cutting edge of design. So keeping up with times and trends is important but knowing what goes and what stays is ultimately the challenge.

A home shouldn't be a living museum of the past. Even the Buckingham Palace updates. So living in a heritage home or even a 60s style bungalow respecting the past is important but true respect comes from keeping it from becoming outdated.
Even modern design embraces weathered or aged elements. Time gives an immediate feeling of importance and meaning. That feeling translates into good design and richness. Layering new and old items gives interest and depth.

Master Bathroom in my 100 yr old house.
(work in progress)

New houses gain character and old homes are refreshed. Although we all need to de-clutter sometimes. Think about re-purposing, it just might be the perfect piece... Again.
