Laying the ground work.

Underfoot.

Shoes, floors and earth all touch our feet. It's amazing how our feet make us feel. Like the first step on sand on a nice vacation. In a home the first step in the door should tell the guest what this house is all about.
There are so many many choices and moods that can be created. You wouldn't think it would be this difficult. Although I love hardwood. I have been reunited with carpet. After many heated debates we are installing carpet on our upper floor.
I wasn't sure how I would feel about it. Carpet to me is a cleaning nightmare even the poor animals are wondering why would we do this to them.
Besides being so quiet ( for sneaking up on the teenager) the colour we chose really brightens the room. The overall feeling is a warmth it didn't have before.

      Carpet choices at Home Depot.
      There's even blues and greens.

     The larger samples. Just kidding!
These impressive rolls are at End of the Roll in North Vancouver.
I have always envied those magazine families that walk around in bare feet. How fancy it will be...
