Skin deep. No filter.
Is it true that beauty is in the eye of the beholder? And that true beauty comes from within? Cause damn... I must be gorgeous. (As if). Or maybe it was that Instagram filter. If it were only that easy.
People, houses and books, let's face it get judged by there cover. Good or bad it would be nice to see past flaws and embrace what makes us different. Most everyone is a fixer upper or has been. Young or old everyone wants to feel good inside and out.
So is it just curb appeal? Humans are drawn to pretty things. Or least a good before and after. How we decorate the outside is a reflection of what's inside. Though I like the idea of the "no filter/no makeup" once and awhile you need a little spackle.
In my old neighbourhood there was a house painted like a rainbow on the siding and the address plaque read the word "somewhere". Maybe we aren't all as daring or colourful but I did appreciate their zest for a good cover. Should there be an artistic endeavour in all we do? Well maybe not with every colour but something that makes us say that's the one.
Downtown Vancouver. Old meets new.
Vancouver building painted out but it's fanciness shines though. True beauty can't hide.
The house. Before it was a forest green so we gave the old guy a makeover. Sometimes we just have to try on a new colour!
